DIGITAL PRODUCT PASSPORT

A step towards transparency and traceability in global value chains?

The EU Commission is aiming for a more sustainable and circular economy. Therefore, several steps towards traceability and reduction of overproduction has to be taken.

The Ecodesign Directive is one of those steps – in part though the incoporation of a Digital Product Passport. The Digital Product Passport is a digital ID of a physical product, that allows different actors to get detailed information. It is a link to the online information.  The Digital Product Passport will be required for all the companies to have and share the full information about their products’ contents and products’ environmental performance.

In this publication, we look into the Digital Product Passport requirements for textile companies to get ready and prepare the information that soon will be demanded by the EU.
